Are there any vegan options??
Food is good. Service was nice. He was right that I should start with a curry. That is hot enough for me today! The view is wonderful at night as it's directly across from the courthouse. I'll definitely be back. This is high praise as I hate coming downtown.
MoreI've been here twice in the past 2 seeks. Great food, reasonable prices. Glad for Indian food in Waco!
MoreStone hearth Indian cafe. I ever been here. Food is very bad. Mostly things is frozen . So don’t waist money and time thanks 😭
MoreEveryone was so nice. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. Has become one of our favorite spots!
MoreFood taste is good , place is big , good environment , service is great, BUT QUANTITY they serve very very small portions...for what you pay!!!!!!!!!!! TRY SAFRON New restaurant in Valley Mills..
MoreI have visited this restaurant several times in the past and have been satisfied each time. The food is good and times past, there was alot of food served. However, on this last visit I think had about 4 small pieces of chicken in my Tika Marsala.
MoreIt was my first time at Stone Hearth, and i thoroughly enjoyed my experience! The owner was very kind and recommended lots of dishes, helping me make my decision. The food is DELICIOUS and I will definitely be coming back here.
MoreDint really have authentic Indian! But a cute little place with decent Indian food.
MoreOne of the best meals in Waco! Affordable, great atmosphere, excellent service, and the food...wow! Delicious and authentic dishes from all over India. It's a nice surprise to find something that breaks up the monotony that can be the Waco food scene. I love southern food and Mexican as much as anyone, but Stone Hearth is a great addition to the variety in our city. This place is a must try. So glad to have them in Waco!
MoreFood was fantastic, took a long time but worth the wait
I’ve really wanted this place to work for me and my boyfriend (who is Indian). I love Indian food and it’s the only place in Waco to get some. Every time we go, we order and hope it’s better than last time. The rice is always soggy no matter what time you order. The samosas are packaged and pre-made. They don’t make them from scratch. They taste like any samosa from a grocery store box. I ordered butter paneer which is VERY EASY TO MAKE. It should be full of spice and sweetness, but it tasted like watered down gravy. The paneer is not soft. It should be easy to cut with a spoon, but mine was not. I ordered a Mango Lassi that took 40 minutes to make, and my boyfriend can make one at home in 5 minutes. Not to mention with all these problems you still pay way too much!!! We paid $50 and left with food worth $10. We have tried multiple times to give this place a chance, but we won’t be going back again.
MoreIn comparison to almost any other Indian restaurant this was sub par. Food was ok but the Gulab jamun was almost inedible. When given to us we were told this is not how it normally looks. Safe to say it's not how it normally tastes either.
MoreI tried the Stone Hearth Cafe in July, The food tasted simply good and is superlative. The only issue i find in this restraunt is the price. They shall lower the price a bit. But the service,Owner seem really friendly. If you’re traveling out of town this is a go to place.
MoreFantastic food. Delightful to have in downtown Waco.
Love the food and the friendliness of the staff. Highly recommended.
This place is not even close to being authentic Indian there are far better places in Dallas and Austin. They need to learn how to cook Indian rice it’s not supposed to be sticky. And paneer biryani doesn’t mean you just put paneer pieces on a already prepared biryani you have to marinate the paneer.
MoreGreat service. Food was outlandishly spicy. But great. Would definitely dine there again
MoreHighly recommend if you haven't tried! Very very tasty, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I'm definitely going back
MoreI have eaten a whole lot of Indian food in the past 5 years. It is a hobby of my husband and I to eat and compare. THIS IS ABSOLUTE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD. If you want authentic amazing Indian food and a cool atmosphere... You HAVE to try this. 🖤There is no other food like this from Dallas to San Antonio. Delicious. Friendly owner.Great atmosphere. Reasonably priced for how yummy it is.
MoreI’ve come to this restaurant several times because I love Indian food. A majority of the time the food has tasted good. The service needs help. The most recent time I came with my family lunch time on Saturday and there were just a few other couples and individuals in the restaurant. There were only two employees, a cook and a cashier. It took quite a bit of time to get the food, probably 30-40 min, and then when we got the food the sauce was cold. We sent several dishes to get them heated up and my girlfriend who ordered paneer had received chicken and had to send it back. They brought back a dish that had paneer but at the bottom there were chunks of chicken still in it. Overall, the food isn’t terrible but the wait and service makes it difficult to frequent this place.
MoreOnly Indian place in waco. Its a pretty decent attempt. The menu is just right in terms of items as well as veg and non veg options.Lassi was good. Thanks for making salt lassi for us even though its not on menu. Biryani could do better with more integrated flavor. The spices were just right in it. We loved the light nan. Dal makhani was a hit as well. Overall 4 stars.
MoreIf you want a $3 Naan ( Bread ) & Receive pathetic attitude form the Manger ( Reema G ) then this is the place you should visit .HORRIBLE....................
MoreInfo shows it's open on Sundays but just went to check it out today and it was closed. Update your business hours.
MoreI ordered again and it has improved so much I ordered spicy and I love it today just need a lil more fresh garlic on the naan but super delicious will order once a week
MoreThe food here is excellent. The first time I ate at Stone Hearth (around October), I would say that it was solid but not spectacular. However, after a five month or so break, my food on my second visit was spectacularly good -- some of the best Indian food I've ever ate. I don't know if the staff changed something, but regardless, Stone Hearth is doing a great job.
MoreFood was good, not "authentic", but good! Fast service, friendly staff. The only issue was they were out of the two things I wanted to eat. And I think their sauce for the samosas could have some more flavor. But I will be back for sure!
MoreGood people and delicious items except the Biryani.
Came here on a Friday night to check it out for the first time. The food was amazing. The spiciness of my food was not too bad but full of flavor. I would highly recommend this place.
MoreAmazing Indian food in Waco. Very good and will visit when here on business again. Owner is humble and polite. Food quality was superior.
MoreI do not understand the reviews I've read about this place. Small portions? Nah! Expensive? It's midrange, but for what you get, both in quality AND quantity, this place is worth every penny. My wife got Tandoori veggie kebabs over basmati rice. I got the Dum Biryani, both dishes with sea salt and butter naan bread. That, with 2 soft drinks, came to roughly $30. Spectacularly seasoned, spicy, absolutely delicious food, our tummies are very happy! Although I finished my dish, the wife couldn't finish hers, so she got it to go. Happy to say we have found our place for tikka masala, curry and biryanis! We will be back again and again!!!
MoreI don't get heart warming and eye opening Indian food often, but this place is a delight. Ross and staff prepare meals to order in a casual environment. You can dine in or take out (great date place). I always order a masala chai tea that is perfectly spiced and sweetened to warm my weary bones. The saag paneer hits all the spots if you're going meatless. The show stopper was a dish "Tandoori Murg Lamb." The lamb was soft and juicy surrounded by griddled veggies that paired well. Typically will order a lassi for dessert or some simosas Togo.
MoreMy husband and myself came in for an early date night. The food we ordered was amazing, the portion was so large I had to take some home
MoreThis restaurant is quite delicious! I enjoyed the paneer tikka masala so much, I ordered another to-go for lunch today!! Equally as delicious reheated.
MoreThe worst place we order madras biryani for our kid which the worst biryani I have ever ate full of whole spices no taste and the rice which he used is cheap quality 1 star is also waste give for ur cafeithat is the level of spice he added for that box in the picture below i know spices are added not too much spice for small quantity of rice and the price i made for your so called too much spice biryani and i ordered medium spice not toooooooooo much garamalasa i would have got good food in some other good american restaurant learn some lessons how to make some good biryani there is no vegetable only 2 piece of carrot and 3 piece cauliflower . for $13 change biryani
MoreAbsolutely fantastic. Friendly, helpful staff. Short wait for the food and the food was amazing! Definitely coming back!
MoreOmg !! Been looking for a good Indian Restaurant for five years since moving to this Country and what can I say...you did NOT let me down. Naan bread to die for...the garlic one is delicious and your Chicken Tikka Masala with Biriyani Rice just wow!! We will be back again!! Thank you so much
MoreWe visited for dinner last night and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the butter chicken and a side of the garlic Naan and they were both incredible. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. The reason I am giving four stars is due to the fact the workers were playing a movie on the TV's, very loudly. It was so loud and distracting that we actually moved tables to try and be further away. It would've made the restaurant a much more inviting place to visit had they been playing some music instead. Sadly, even though the food was delicious, the atmosphere inside would make me think twice about eating dinner there again.
MoreDelicious. Sides of biryani rice and plain Naan with most things. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. Recommend the aloo gobi in the "authentic" spicy level and some potato or sundried tomato Naan. If you are used to spicy (eat it every day), eat "authentic" heat level or above. Masala chai was good, though sodas and lassis are also offered. Beautiful space, loud, catchy, Bollywood-style music videos and music, absolutely empty and spacious when we went.
MoreThe food was not awful but between two people getting only entrees and fountain drinks we ended up spending $40. Service wasn't super friendly. There was nobody there people walked in there and walked out because it looked closed
MoreDon’t come here bad food. They are don’t know about the basic Indian food regardless to pay money right here go to McDonald’s is much better because they also Sale the frozen food I have cooking experience I work for the Indian food So I know that everything man they have stupid food You should shame management😡😡😡😡
MoreThe food and menu were explained to us so that we could at least attempt to order something that we might like!It worked! The food was very good.
MoreDon't go here patatic place to eat.. eat subway or McDonalds fish flea... very disappointed
MoreDelicious food. Authentic flavors. Great service and atmosphere.
While Indian food is not my favorite and sometimes I don’t know what to order, we were surprised at how good this was. Pretty good service to top it all off!
MoreDirty place, food was burnt, service was poor and bathrooms were clogged. These folks think they are running a restaurant in a third world country like India.
MoreMy first experience with Indian food. The owner went over the menu with us and explained what was in the food. Very friendly. The food was delicious and worth the wait. I would definitely recommend a visit.
MoreOnly 4 people where in the restaurant when we arrived. Very very slow service. The staff was not handling the food in accordance with health code. Handling money and then food with no gloves. No one was washing there hands between orders/ handling meat. The cashier was even eating food over orders being plated. The thing is, the food was great! Amazing. A bit spicier than I expected but it had a great flavor.
MoreThis place is a disgrace to the Indian cuisine!PLEASE AVOID VISITING THIS PLACE, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR INDIAN FOOD!Mixing ground coffee with boiling water and milk, followed by filtering is NOT a south indian degree coffee! It’s not even an Indian coffee! PLEASE!Also, the order was about to be mixed up with some other customer, lack of cleanliness(kitchen/restrooms), high price/low portions etc are other problems at this location! However, the owner knows his customers and well-communicating, is the only good thing we have to comment!
MoreGood food, great service
Absolutely Authentic. Delicious. Flavorful and hearty. Must try! 😋 Yum.
